I want to change my logo on my van but the vinyl has been on there for 8 years. I can get it off but the paint fade around the lettering should be pretty bad. Can I buff it out/compound it or should I leave well enough alone. New idea on top

LaRue,

I don't think that White fades very much. It might be a bit glossier under the vinyl, but that should be easily buffed out to an even gloss.

You might want to experiment and just take off one piece and see if you notice much differenc in the paint.

I just washed my white 1985 4Runner for the first time in about five years (water conservation, you know). Not all of the paint is 1985 vintage, but much of it is and it all looks pretty good.

As an alternative, maybe a wrap would do (just cover the offending panel above the body line).

LaRue,

Yardsale makes a good point....It might be cheaper and easier to just have the rear quater panes of the van (wheel well to roof) wrapped with vinyl. Then you could add the website to the door to get the same look as your new design.

What surprised me on a Ranger I bought, used every cleaner I could think of but wouldn't come white again. Young'un at the old timey gas station said to Clorox it..........I was amazed!!
