I am thinking of painting my aluminum rims. Up here in Canada the winters are very hard on the rims and I have some black oxidizing I want to clean up.

I may get a set of chrome rims for summer use but will use the factory rims for winter.

the color I am thinking is a 2 tone - Graphite and black.

Has anyone painted their rims and if so, how did they come out. also how are they holding up?

thx all

Mel

i did it..

i just wanted the stock grey colour on my rims to be black, so i went to canadian tire and bought the duplicolour black rim paint, and clearcoat...

i scuffed everything i wanted painted with sandpaper, then taped, and sprayed away.... then cleared a few coats, removed the tape and cleared a few more times.... its by no means a pro job, but it looks alright from 10 feet or so, and will hold me back from getting new rims for a while...

i think i have a pic in my library
