peeling clearcoat

I have recently noticed some clearcoat bubbling and peeling on the front bumper. Has anyone else had this problem? I did a search and came up w/nothing.

my 01 has been parked outside for almost 4 years of FL sun, only in the carport a few times. I have not seen any issues with the clearcoat at all.....

If you are actually talking about the bumper, they are not painted or clear coated. They come from the factory in a textured grey that is the same grey color through the plastic.



If your 2001 Sport Trac bumper is actually peeling, it would mean it was painted and clear coated, perhaps by a previous owner?



If the you are referring to the body color painted upper part of the nose piece that surrounds the grille and headlights, then that could be the clear coat. If you are the original owner you are probably out of warranty so there's not much you can do other than have it repainted or repaint it yourself if you have the equipment.



If you are not the original owner, perhaps the previous owner had an accident and whoever did the repairs did a poor job on applying the clear coat?
