Well I bought the tires I asked about last week. Despite the tread blocks. The tire is a highway/all terain. It is quiet and rides good on the highway.

The problem is they damaged all four of my rims. It appears they thought the tires mount from the rear. They dont. The machine clamps gouged and scratched the face of the rims. There are also scratches in areas of the clear coat, that was just sloppy handling.

Pep-boys dont let you in the garage like dicount tire does. I should have stoped the whole purchase when, the guy asked me. where are the jack points. He was puting the lift under the rocker panel. Then got mad at me for stoping him. I guess he didnt know the difference in the rocker panel vs the frame.

I have a claim #. Waiting for there adjuster to call. Gonna be intresting to see what they do about it....:angry:

What I get for trying to save $200.

dang... the pep-boys around here does pretty good work....

took my buddys older cars there all the time before he moved for school

What does Judge Marlyn Milian on Peoples Court say: The cheap come out to be more expensive.

I always watch what they do even if I have to gou outside and stand in front of the bay door. I caught one guy tightening the lug nuts with an air wrench and not a torque wrench. I quickly went back in and told the manager who made him loosen the lug nuts and torque them to proper specs with a torque wrench.

It is amazing that one of the easiest things to do is mount tires, yet they hire dumb bunnies that can't even do that right.

That really sucks Eddie, I still miss those rims! I tried to find a set for my F150 but had no luck. I actually saw a ST in my town a few weeks ago with the RT-6's on it and they fit the truck so well. It was only like the 3rd set I've ever seen on a truck locally, including my own.

I wound up putting on some chrome Saleen wheels a few days ago, Discount Tire mounted and balanced them, no damage and they ride great. That says a lot considering they're 23" wheels with 305/40-23 tires! I'd be scared to let Pep Boys touch my truck, especially with custom wheels.
