Can't remember if I thought of this or read it here somewhere.

Can one enlarge the hole in the stock air filter box to gain more airflow? I have already removed the "restrictor tube" from the stock box. Was looking at the hole, and wondering about enlarging it. Would this be beneficial? How much so? How large a hole should you make?

Any ideas....?

You can make as large of a hole as you want, although gains are minimal at best, more mental HP then anything. The MAFS and throttle body are still your choke points, and hte stock tube itself.

IMO,,You cant go to large. What I did was, use a 2 1/2" hole saw. I put this extra hole in the bottom of the box. That way, if any water ever gets in, it will drain. I cant say it made the Trac more powerful. It did make throttle response a little quiker..;)

EDIT: If you use a hole saw, you will have to remove the box. unless the pilot bit is shorter than 1/2" from the saw teeth. Not much clearance under the box..
