I have a 2001 Ford Sport Trac that is making a popping sound when I take off or am rollling slow. I have checked the body mount and they look fine. I think the UV joints are the cause because I htink I have 65,000 miles and they are the original ones.

Cv joints????

Could be fluid levels or the drive shaft yolk needs lube..

I have a '01 with 139,000 miles and just recently had the u-joints changed (and front drive shaft CV), but only because I had both drive shafts balanced. Yours may be bad, but I got a bunch of miles on mine.

I have a popping noise too. It seems to come from the right rear leaf spring. It does this when I drive in to or out of a driveway and the right rear wheel goes up or down a bit of the curb (anywhere from three to six inches). I noticed that the front "isolator" (pad between the first and second leafs) is gone and figure it's the leafs slapping together, maybe not.
