For those who love cars. The story is a man bought this property in Portugal that had been empty for 15 years. They say the property had a lot of land. He was walking it and found this large barn like building that was padlocked and rusted shut. He came back later cut the padlock off, grind-ed what he need to of the door to get in and opened the door. When he turned on his flashlight he found rows and rows of cars {180} covered with dust and in varying conditions. Looking at the pictures, I believe the find to be true, the story I don't know. Remember this was posted on the Internet. Whether any of this is true or not I don't know, but it sure is great to look at and wish that you could find something like that yourself or even one car. If the link doesn't work just Google cars found in barn in Portugal. There are a lot more links.

I beleive this barn exists, its the story of no one knowing about it that seems odd... thats quite a huge barn and I dont think it would be overlooked when selling the land...

But who knows!

Lucky guy, if its true!

I can believe it if they turn up stolen. Those cars are too new for no one to know they were there. Every car nut in the country would have known about this collection.

This was posted late last year or early this year on both this site and F150online.com, I have tried to keep tabs on the results/findings but can't find any updates anywhere. I found one dutch site that discussed the license plates and they determined that they were all from Portugal. You think there would be more info around on a find like this.

Edited, I did a new google search and there is more stuff popping up about this, the only explanations I have found so far are:

I read about this in the portuguese newspapers the other day. It belonged to a wealthy doctor here in Portugal and he passed away and nobody knew about his collection

and

After a bit of searching through some portuguese classic cars forums, i came up empty.

"Interclassicos" is the classic car trader who posted this finding on its webpage, but that has been removed, apparently because of too much speculation and pressure to reveal the location of the warehouse. I found a few more pictures including one outside where a tower was ready to take an Austin Cooper S (the reason for the opening of the warehouse, apparently).

The only explanation was (roughly translated):

"The owner of these cars is a collector who requested anonymity. They are all documented and were all bought in the 80s, and in the early 90s the warehouse was welded shut."

Anyway, i really doubt they're still there, since the finding was at least over a month ago...
