Not one to brag but I thought this was a pretty good accomplishment for my 14 year old daughter.

Her basketball team, since 2005 season, went 44-2, two league championships, two league tournament champs, three post season tournament champs against other middle schools from California and Oregon. The only two games they lost were in a tournament and against their cross town rivals in league play. When they met that team in the league finals they beat them by 20 pts!

The last time the school had a winning girls team was in 1991.

She played Pt Guard and avg 11 pts a game and 8 assist 3 rebs. Not bad for the shortest player 5' 1" on the team...LOL

I give a lot of credit to her coach. He knows how to motivate these girls and I have never seen a middle school team girls or boys swing the ball around to the open player who can hit a 3pt.

The best moment was when her team was playing the other cities All-Star Select team made up of all the best players in the league and she dropped 15 pts in the quarter. I asked her what got you fired up? And, she says to me...those girls give me no respect so I thought I would light it up!

Thanks for letting me share.

Having a daughter myself who played Basketball and got to go to college on a basketball scholarship, I know how proud it can be. Congratulations.

thats great. I have 3 girls and am a huge sports fanatic. Most people ask me what i am going to do since i dont have any boys. I have a daughter that will probably put them in their place.

I just hope she finds it as fun as your daughter seems to be having. Todays sports programs are all about winning...and not what their part of.

thanks for sharing. Most of the Posts are about problems so seeing something good is a change of pace.

I hope she makes it to the college level. She is taking the first step by taking a weight lifting class at her school as I told her it would help with her jump shot and being more explosive off the dribble.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

How ever both are Honor Students.

It's great to have kids to be proud of Congrats again on your Daughter

Who knows she might just be the first woman to play Professional Mens Basketball;)

Great things for you and your Daughter.
