similar thing happened to me a few years ago. My toyota was at the dealership for crash repairs and my stereo and speakers got stolen while on there lot. Since i had taken pictures of the damage and the vehicle prior to leaving it with them they had no choice but to cover it through their insurance. Got a couple of estimates, since I didn't have the original receipts anymore, and they sent me a check.
