I'm using a Daewoo DVD player I bought in Korea. It has a lot more features than my old RCA DVD player had, but it isn't nearly top of the line. The thing I like about it is that I was easily able to hack it so I can watch DVDs from all regions. It has no problems playing DVDs from the US, Korea, or any place else. The picture quality is very good too, so I'll probably use it until it wears out.

Rocco,

Looks like you're right. I have seen the Cox service, and since the satellite services received bad reviews here, it looks like my combination of Cox digital and over-the-air HD programming gives the most bang for the buck.

Thanks to everyone for the awesome feedback. :D

No duplicates. Some of the local channels have three or four subchannels (24-hour news/weather/local info). The list of our local HD channels is at the link Rocco provided above in the thread.

I get OTA and DirecTV HD channels (which, for the most part, suck). I do have a cool little device called the R5000-HD. It allows me to capture anything that comes on the satellite bit-for-bit and have a PERFECT copy. I've gotten a number of great movies that I can watch anytime. I can also capture OTA stuff via a MyHD capture card inside the PC too. I am so far backed up on movies that I don't know when I'll possibly have time to watch them all. They're all sitting there waiting for me, in perfect HD quality. ;)

We just got a 46" Toshiba wide screen DLP HDTV. We opted for cable with HD programming (Comcast). We have friends who have the Satelite and the HD was not very good.

We bought a Home theater set up that has the HDMI and when connected to the TV does provide near- HD quality DVD movies. The cable is expensive though- around $80.
