I got my windows tinted the other day and i was left witha couple of questions that they did not give me th eanswer to. the first being how long whould i wait to put the window down, i got them done tuesday some pwoplw say 3 days others say over a week? the second question is i have in channel visors on all the doors and the told me they needed to take one of the front ones off why did they have to do this they told me it was part of the tinting process. my question is if it was part of the tinting process why didnt they do it to th etwo front dorrs instead of only the passengers door.

Thanks

Shawn

I had my front widows tinted last month. I put the windows down the following day - no problems. As for the inchannel visors - my guess is they removed it because it was a tight fit when the window closed and they didn't want to take a chance with the window film peeling before it had a time to cure to the window. There was probably more clearance in the other window.

Every place I have ever had tint my windows always told me to waite 3 days. I would do that. As far as the visors go, The in channels most of the time are removed... They should re install it for no charge in 3 - 4 days.... The in channel visors to not hold up that well over time.. I am even going to remove mine and re tape to the outside... It may have been falling off or loose and they just removed it...

Waited 2 days. They left my in-channel visors in, didn't even say anything about em. Comes with a lifetime warranty against peeling/bubbling/etc.

I have had my windows tinted on all my vehicles since moving to Texas 22 years ago. I have never had anyone tell me to wait more than 24 hours before rolling down the windows.

The may be films that some places use that requires 3 days, so I would play it safe and wait at least 3 days. If it's not related to the specific film, it may be more to do with how hot it is in your area.

Yes Richard I also believe it is a temperature and humidity issue of the given area. Here in Florida the sun will cure and dry that window tint in 24hrs. I believe they removed "one" of the visors so they would have full unobstructed access to the glass for measuring and cutting.

They left my in channel vent visors on too. As for putting the windows down, the manufacturer suggests 5 days, but the guy told me three. I waited almost a week, because I didnt really need them down, but my buddy put his down 30 minutes after they were tinted(hes not really playing with a full deck) and they were fine.
