I have about 60 100 fills coins (Bahrainian money) that I would like to get rid of. However, all the currency exchange locations I have come across will not handle coins, only bills.

Any suggestions on how to cash these in?

(Worth is, $2.85 American dollars to every 1 Bahrainina dollars).

Especially if you're still in the UK, the airport place might take it. If not ask your bank, my bank would take it for a slight fee.

Thumper has it right. I had a ton of coins from Iraq and Iran and the only place that took them was at the airport. You lose a little on exchange rate but I promise you'll make more then you would on Ebay.

I tried three airport locations in the USA and two while I was in London. Neither will do it. But they will do London coins....

I have a few more trips to the UK area, guess I will keep trying...

What's the total value in US $$ of all the coins you have? If it's less than $15 or $20, it may not be worth going through all the ebay hassles??

...Rich

Take them to a McDonalds, order a $1 double cheeseburger, give the cashier one, tell him it's the US's new $100 coin, and ask for $99 change. I think a lot of their cashiers would fall for it.

Repeat until the coins are gone.

:)

(Sorry, no, other than what's already been posted, I don't have any serious suggestions.)

You can donate foreign coins to Unicef's Change for Good® program:

Unicef partners with several airlines in the Change for Good® program -- if you've foreign coins in your pocket after travel, simply donate them to Unicef on the plane with these carriers:

* Aer Lingus

* Alitalia

* All Nippon Airways (ANA)

* American Airlines

* Asiana Airlines

* British Airways

* Cathay Pacific

* Finnair

* JAL

* Qantas

Drop your foreign coins into Unicef envelopes available on board; flight attendants will collect them and Unicef will use the change to benefit children globally.
