My wifes 1998 explorer sport just lost its display on the radio. Its the cd cassette combo radio. The radio still works fine but there is no display. No Clock nothing. Any ideas?

This is a common problem with Ford/Visteon radios. My wife had the same unit in her '99 Mercury Villager and the display went out. The circuit card that controls them goes bad.

You can send it in to the eBay seller at the address below for repair, or trade it in for a refurbished unit.

See the link below.

This was a HUGE issue on the earlier Ford radios. They had a LED display and failed miserably. I have seen them repaired but never less than $75.00 as they basically rebuild your radio. Install a new belt for the Cassette or clean the head for the CD player etc etc.

I'm guessing that the repair itself must not be worth too much and they simply have a minimum charge...
