You won't hear any more noise until you get to WOT. Then it will sound like the engine is putting out some power. In fact, to help the engine breath even better, cut more hole in the air box.

When I removed the silencer, I added a bit of intake hose to extend the intake outside of the engine compartment.

Got it ~ thanks for the help everyone!

By the way, I was thinking of going this route instead of a cold air intake for now...what do you think?

Me too.

1. got dizzy just reading about the K+N vs. MAC vs. Volante vs. etc. etc.

2. my mechanic (not necessarily a Trac expert) said, "if you go with an oiled air filter, eventually the oil will contaminate the MAF sensor, burn it out, cause the light to come on, and you'll have to replace it".

3. when the dealer opens the hood they will see "nothing out of the ordinary" with just the silencer removed.

4. free modification

Any opinions on cutting more holes in the airbox, or,

what filter to use to replace the stock one? I'm due for a replacement.

Thanks!
