I replaced the rear window motor today and while I was going through the initialization process, I noticed that I was able to stop the window at any position prior to completing the process.

That made me think, "what if I don't follow through the initialization process?" What would be the harm in having the ability to fully control the window's position?

Has anyone tried that?

BTW, I did complete the initialization process...didn't want to take any chances.

there was 1 member that re wired the motor to just a dummy motor and he was able to stop it any where he wanted.

ONLY issue was he removed the roll up safety by doing that.

Todd is right. You will loose the safety feature. In case a kid or someone has their head or hand in there. Like a garage door. If it sesnses resistance it will open back up.

When i'm doing the initialization process, the window stops at the last step where you move it up to the closed position. it seems like its going back to the vent setting before fully closing. in any case, it stops the initialization process from completing.
