Omg!!!! Insane
Yeah, I went the classic resto shop way also. More expensive, but I wanted quality because I knew I was going to keep the truck a long time (already 5 years in). Mine was a $4K total, so five years later, your quote is probably "in line" given how expensive everything has gotten. Every thing that touches you vehicle has now gone out-of-sight in cost!!

Wait? $4000 for the truck? You don't mean $4000 for 2 rocker panels?

Unfortunately I paid a little more than that for rocker panels inside and out, cab corners and a bit of other body fixes and it turns out the job was not that good as the cab corners are now rusting again! Be careful!

I could never as they are rusted and the nerf bars even rusted off. But I barely paid half that far the truck last year.

Just my winter truck as I can't drive the mustang gt in winter.

Sorry if I mislead anyone. The $4K included have a goofy hood scoop installed by the previous owner removed. The shop said the only way to make it look factory was to remove the scoop, repair the holes and sand and block the entire hood. I told them to go for it and don't regret it. So, I don't remember the exact break-down on the work. But I do remember that the rusted out rear cab corners had to be fabricated as their are no replacements for those. Fabrication ain't cheap. Regardless, it was all worth it. I now have over 90K miles on it and drive it every day. I love my ST. The 4.6 V8 is a sweet running engine.

Let me know if you have any more Q’s.
I will definitely share this process with pictures and everything. I am not planning on doing this till next summer (2023)
Hell yes! You're a pioneer in my book. Keep us up to date on your trials and tribs.
