Replacing Windshield

So my windshield cracked on the way to work this morning. Not totally unexpected i had a chip in it for the last couple years!! I called to order a new one and get an estimate. The guy asked me if i wanted a heated one?? I have never heard of a heated one before, was this an option or???? At $$900+ for cost i went without LOL!! Anyone heard of this? Just curious!!

Yes the gen2 trac had that option. some said, at certain angles, it distortes vision...

You would have to be wired for it. Probably $500 for the kit.

Thanks Eddie, I have never heard of that before. Never heard of anyone mention that as an option either.

Searching many Ford forums, many have said the OEM CarLite glass is worth the slightly higher price. Have read of many SafeLite windshield failures.

Yes, I ordered the OEM Carlite glass. I like OEM, and it was only $30 bucks more.
