Does anyone know how to return my black plastic trim to black again without painting? My side step bars corners have faded to a light gray. Armor all, silicone, etc just make them shiny gray.

Sounds like the paint just failed and it is gone....

Can try : Back to Black Or the 303 protectant....

If not, Sounds like a dye or paint..

Maybe under warranty, being an '07. Could be bad die in the plastic. If so it wont get any better.

Without a doubt, Mother's Back to Black

Also check into their Plastic Polish or PowerPlastic for your clear plastics.

These products are for protecting/preventing and restoring.

Hands down the best!

Yup, Turtle Wax Ice is the schiznit.

Works best on the step bar treads if you pop them out and totally remove them from the step bars first! OCD all the way, right, Dingo?;)

Meguiars Gold Class Vinyl/Rubber Protectant works better than Mothers back to black and TW ICE on the plastic cladding, IMHO. It even lasts during and after rain. I use it inside and out and It doesn't leave a greasy finish like Armor All. It just makes the plastic look new. DO NOT use it on the bed cover, TW Ice will work better on that. There's also Forever Black, it's a dye for the black plastic. I used that on the tailgate handle and it worked good, still shinny.

I agree about the Meguiars Gold class Protectant mentioned above.

I put some on my cladding and bumpers in mid summer and IT'S STILL THERE!

Just spray it on and forget it.

Amazing stuff!
