Rough idle

The engine seems to be idling kinda rough and on rare occassions the engine fails to turn over on ignition. Sometimes it idles at ~700rpms right after ignition as opposed to starting at ~1200rpms and then settling down to about ~700rpms. What are these symptoms of and what do I need to do to fix it? I'm still using the original battery at 28K miles and I often use the stereo during breaks and lunches at work. Indicator is still glowing green though.

Clean the IAC motor first.

I had similar symptoms recently at 29k--wouldn't turnover as easily and sluggish acceleration. I remembered the IAC project, did it, and no problems since. Fast and easy project.
