Scratched rear window

Transporting a grill last week I accidentally nickedd the rear window, and left a scratch in the factory tint. Anyone know if this can be fixed.

The factory tint is in the glass, not on the surface.



If there is a tinting film applied, that is aftermarket and will have to be replaced by you or a tint shop.



If there is a scratch in the glass, if it is minor, there are buffing compounds out there that will work.



So, what do you have?

I tried to remove a sticker that was on someones Trac and it scratched the tint...

On his ST the windows were tinted with film.....

I know it was OEM not aftermarket....

I've never seen a vehicle with OEM film before... I've been a cellular phone installer for about 8 years now and have done a lot of window mounted antennas, never seen any film aside from aftermarket.

Almost positive it's factory tinted - at least that's what the specs said. So maybe I did scratch the glass. Will post a pic in the a.m.

Even if you had tint film on the window, it would be on the inside. Feel the mark with your fingernail, see if it catches on the scratch. If its deep enough to catch your nail, it probably can't be buffed out.

Consider it a battle scar.



I just got my Trac and while at the drage races, some jackass got pissed at me and punched the door on my Trac. I ripped his mirror off and drove over it.



It is a battle scar. The next one will not hurt as bad.

If that's all he did, the guy should consider himself lucky. Caymen does actually have a lot of mechanical knowledge, and I imagine if he wanted to f' up the other guy's car, he could do some serious damage.
