My seat belt receiver has become lodge and will not lock the seat belt on my front driver side seat which is kinda of a safety concern for me. Anyways I checked the Fast Part Network and couldn't find the part does anyone know what the part number is? More importantly what is the best way to go about removing the receiver? it seems to have a star bolt on it that I will have to buy a special tool for. It seems that without removing the seat its going to be near impossible to get to the bolt any ideas?

Thanks,

Ed

Ed,

Check with the dealer as I believe that the seat belt mechanism has a longer coverage than normal.

My Ex's passenger side was replaced no charge at 10 yrs old..

Seat belt bolts are usually a #50 Torx, same there IIRC.

XL2Z-7861202-AAA should be Dark Graphite

XL2Z-7861202-AAB should be Prarie Tan

Edit: Part numbers i posted are '02. Fast Parts shows 03-05 the same. The 7861202 callout number will be the same though. See Link.

I think, but not 100% sure, Manufacture's will cover seat belts for life... vs you in a wreck and taking your life and bad publicity

Go to the dealership and ask for goodwill replacement... or call customer service at Ford. They might be able to help in this.
