Now that I have another ST, I must regretfully sell my blazing yellow F150. Its a customized LA West rig and I put in a Pioneer Avic Z1, Bluetooth adapter and backup camera. My feeling is that the high end stereo fits the truck and adds appeal for a likely buyer of this type of vehicle. I can buy an identical used system off Ebay for less than $1000 and put that in the ST. Conventional wisdom says put the stock 6 disc CD back in the F150, sell it that way, and switch the AVIC to the ST. Is my thinking all wrong?

I don't think you are going to get an extra $1k selling the f150 with it in there. So I would pull it and install it in the vehicle you want it in.

I would say to swap it out.

If you didn't live so far from me, I would consider buying your F150. I looked at it in your library. Very nice. There's nothing like that around here, for sure.

Nice looking family too. :)

I had a guy in last week with a beat to #**** v8 99 Dakota. He bought $1000 worth of used offroad stuff like grill guards and side steps. He claims they go for $3000 new. Figured he would get more for his truck. Instead of paying down his embarrassing about of negative equity he went and sunk a grand into that crap thinking he would tripple his investment in it.

No matter what you wrap a turd in....it's still a turd.

My rims and tires for my F150.....I spent $1600 on it all buying it at bone cost from Advance Auto via a connection at my dealership. Our new assistant parts manager was the manager there and he got me their cost on everything. The most I could get for it was $800 from the dealer that bought my truck. They felt the truck would sell faster with my rims and tires than with the stock 18" FX4 rims.

leaving it in is not gonna add an extra thousand to the selling price so your gonna come up short in the end. take it and give it to me!!! or put it in your trac:(

Jerry G- small world! My parents lived in Dewey from 84-89 while I went to med school at OU in OKC. I recall driving through town, heading north toward Kansas for a mile or so, then turning east- I think their address was Box 442. They lived on a 5 acre place with a pool and a derrick over the fence. I still remember the Tom Mix Museum.....

My truck will be on Ebay in a day or two- If you buy it I can have one of my limo drivers deliver it for gas and a Southwest ticket home. Thanks for the comments re the family as well.....

Wow! It IS a small world.

I went to OU as well, but a decade or two earlier. (class of 76)

Dewey/Bartlesville is a great place to live. Born and raised in Tulsa, but even though it's only 45 minutes away, I've gotten into the small town life so much that I don't even like to go to Tulsa much anymore.

I live north of town and, like your parents, on 5 acres with a pool, but no derrick.

The Tom Mix Museum is still there and very popular along with the 1899 built Dewey Hotel.

I own the drug store in town so I get to meet a lot of townsfolk. I must say that I love the town and the people.

Come back for a visit sometime, if you can tear yourself away from Key West. :)

Thanks for the offer on the truck, but the gas and plane ticket would more than likely be a sizeable sum over the high price of the truck. ;)
