Olaf, what people don't realize is that a heavy object moving at high speed delivers a lot of energy when it hits something. A 50 pound object hitting at 50 mph is about 3000 foot/pounds of energy. That can do a lot of damage to metal, plastic and glass, and certainly be lethal if it hits a human.

You can't carry too many ropes in your ST, IMO.

TJR,

The Trac can easily haul a yard of mulch which weighs about 700 - 800 lbs depending on how wet it is. My wife has hauled a yard of dirt in mine which is much heavier; probably in the 1500 - 2000 lb range. No problems.

Thanks Bill-E. Yes, I have hauled yard a of mulch, even 2/3 yard of river rock, and I know it can handle that. I asked because I was wondering what the 50 bags of mulch Gavin was hauling wieghed. Depending on the type of mulch, that sounds like it could have been a pretty heavy load.

I agree with some of the posts here that he was trying to signal to you that you were losing some of your load. I hauled mulch recently. I had 25 bags (2 cu ft each) and the bed was full even to the sides of the bed plus one row higher. I cannot see how is it possible to get 50 in there, unless it was stacked higher than the top of the cab. This was with the bed extender out as well, and it was making the back squat down quite a bit. I don't have any load helping suspension though. I just made 3 trips to get what I needed. Better safe than sorry...
