hehe, did you guys notice that all the pictures in the picture gallery were computer-generated. That's not even real mud on the 07 'Trac. ;)

Somebody needs to get one and tell us how it does in the MUD!

Yeah, I think I've saw the same ST in three different backgrounds plus others with wheels spinning then not spinning, then slinging mud...

Money must be gettin' pretty tight at Ford when you start selling vehicles for the employee price and you can't even take a single truck out in the mud for a photo shoot. Hell, I'd have driven it for free, and I'm sure I could have gotten a couple of buddies to shoot some snapshots for free as well. All they have to do is gimme a 07 'Trac! That's not too much to ask!!

Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

I think I'd rather have the SVT version though, and then never take it in the mud. ;)

jj,

That is an easy one. They added .6 L of displacement with 2 more pistons. So it went from 210 HP V6 to a 292 HP V8. (209*140%=292 HP)

Any idea why Ford would move the Sport Trac Fuel Door to the passenger side? That has got to be the most anoying thing. I know if I bought one I would be reminded of it twice a week.

Bob,

My guess is because that is how the fuel tank is designed. That is the side the fuel tank was balanced the best, so Ford used it. Since the Trac is based off the Explorer, it gets the same setup.

Personally, it doesn't matter to me. I care more about the ugly grill then where to put the gas.

I think the Fuel Door on the passenger side would be better (at least in my area). There are too many vehicles with the fuel door on the driver's side and they pile up behind the Left side pumps at the gas station. There are usually very few in line on the right side pumps at the gas station. There is also the danger of dinging your driver's door if pulling up to the forward pump because the stations like to put the barrrier poles on each end of the island.

I think all fuel doors should be standardized to the left side of the vehicle so that you pull in on the right side of the gas pumps to avoid cross traffic at the gas station.

Also, it would help if they put longer hoses on the gas pumps like in the good ol' days so that you could drag the hose around to the other side of the car and fill it.

The stations in my area advertise "Extra long hoses to reach both sides of your vehicle".
