Anyone here own both Trucks. I bought the FJ in April gave the sporttrac to my wife to drive.

The only issue with the FJ was the tires. The company said they could blow so they replaced

them for me at 18,000 km. Apart from that it is a pretty good Truck. I started missing my Sporttrac so I have started driving that when the family goes out.

Just curious if anyone else has both.

Not that I'm aware of.

I'm a huge fan of the FJ and have spent some time with them, really impressed with them. I've not gotten to take it off road yet, but the on road 'performance' were nice. I really liked the interior, how it was built for a purpose. I did almost hit a Volvo backing that thing up...don't think it had the rear sonar....that would be a must for me.

The thing about FJs is while they are reasonably priced, all the ones on lots are damn near fully optioned pushing the price towards $30K. I've got a problem paying that much money for a vehicle I know I'll break, bust, bruise and abuse. All I really want in a 4x4 6-speed with option package #1, the black wheels, and a roof rack...

The other thing would be at the price to actually get one, other vehicles that are higher on my list of "wants" come in.

I really like the FJ. Drives really nice for a vehicle with great off road capability.

Tiger - I hear ya. Local Toyota dealer had 8 on their lot all fully loaded at 32K. I want a 4x4 v6 stripped with just A/C, Cruise and PW. Stereo I'll add myself. I'm going to check on how long their delivery time is for ordering a unit.

I love the FJ but like others have never seen a reasonably priced one on a lot. Also I hear the gas mileage is worse then our Sport Tracs.

Gas mileage is about the same as the track, however you have to use premium grade. My girlfriend just got one exactly how she wanted. Since I live in Florida, the inventory is kept in Jacksonville. Just tell the dealer what you want and they should be able to get it. If not, you can order one, but they are manufactured in Japan so it make take a while.

Getting over 20 on my first two tanks using mid-grade, I averaged 18.5 on my 02 ST. Many FJ owners say they use the regular stuff (87 octane). You can find them with most of the goodies for ~$28-$29k.

Guess i should add, I don't have both, but I just sold the '02 ST and picked up an FJ. ST was great, but was getting up there in the miles. So far, I'm really enjoying the FJ. :D
