ST terminology

I've posted some questions elsewhere on this forum about my search for a used ST. Since then, I've looked back at other postings and I'm seeing terminology especially regarding 2001: What is meant by "Job 1" and "Job 2" and other references to 1 and 2. Are they referring to two different editions of the 2001? and are there any particular issues regarding 2001s that I should know about?

Ford changed some things mid stream in 2001......



The easiest way to tell is the motor. It is a 4.0 SOHC but the job 2 has the oil fill on the passenger side and plastic valve covers.



The job 1 the oil filler is on the drivers side and the valve covers are metal.
