Stained side molding, any ideas to remove

I have the plastic, painted side molding on my ST. Problem is after a rainy few days, large trucks from gas well sites have tracking some mud on the roads. This molding on the side of the truck after washing it,noticed it has yellow looking stains where the mud was on it. The molding is supposed to be white. Any idea how to get it off without painting it. I tred rubbing compound and bleach. Still there

Scratch remover....

Alcohol ??

Bug and tar remover ??

Lighter fluid ??



IF that does not work, Then I would 2000 grit lightly wet sand, then use polishing compound, then wax..

Charcoal fluid or kerosene, then polish.

How can it be removed without damaging the paint? It's been on for 2 years, some serious 3m tape.

Tried, alcohol, bug and tar remover and lighter fluid. Nothing is working. Sandpaper might be the answer.
