in the last few weeks I have noticed that i am getting static on my radio whenever I plug anything in to the 12 volt accessory or the lighter outlet in the dash. It happen when I plug my cell phone charger or my TomTom into either plug when I remove to charger everything is fine I am thinking that it is a grounding issue and looking for some ideas of where to start. I was also thinking about connecting my 12 volt plug on the side consule directly to my battery with a 15 amp fuse in line.... any ideas would help

Thanks Baker

Could be a bad antenna connection. Usually at the back of the radio, not at the antenna. Weak signals coming into the radio from the antenna are overcome by Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) given off by the various pieces of equipment. Does moving the Tom Tom farther from the radio reduce the interference? Any way of temporarily powering the Tom Tom seperate from the power plug?
