Step Rails

Anyone out there with a GEN 1 and OEM step rails...



Do they rattle on you? Any idea on how to make it stop?



Mine have been rattling for a while even after tightening the mounting bolts and it drives me nuts.

Might be the bolts under the pads. or the pads themselves.

Mine never rattled or moved on either my 01 or my 03 Trac...

I had rust chips inside my step rails that used to rattle...

Funny, I removed my step rails and eliminated the rusty eyesore look, and now the trac looks great again.

I'm tempted to take them off, but they're not that rusty, and the short people in the family use them. Funds for a new set have not been approved by the speaker of the house.



One side started to rattle on and off, and now the other side began to chime in. I guess I'll start looking at them again now that the temperature has dropped to slightly less blistering.

I took my OEM Steps off too and gave them to a buddy of mine. T'was hell getting them off with bolts snapping (I live in PA, welcome to rust n' crap) lol. As far as ppl getting in, I like it because a lift kit n no side steps allows for me to feel like a little kid hopping into a bigger truck and some people (Like my grandmother) not being able to get in. :bwahaha:
