Stranded at the gas station today

The wife, son and I were out riding in the Trac today as we normally do as a family. Stopped at a circle K station to fill up due to the $1.91 price. Got back in the Trac and I hear a sound coming from under the dash that sounded like a fluttering. Door bell chime was a slooooow deeeeep sound. Turn the switch and nothing:unsure:. Factory 2001 battery was finally dead. It wouldn't even take a boost. 6 years isn't bad for that Motorcraft battery. Fortunately there was an Orielly's within 100 yards. $50 later and ole "Ellie Mae" was back on her game like nothing had happened.

I agree with Todd Z, you did get lucky. I've been on a desert road at night, and that is no place you want to be stranded.

I still have my factory battery on my 01. I tend to have good luck with Motorcraft batteries. I do keep my fingers crossed though.
