The Docs in ER tried all those techniques last night to slow down my heart. The only thing that worked was some drug that stopped my heart for about six seconds. Freakiest thing I ever felt, and left me gasping for air. They basically "rebooted" my heart. I guess they'll have to put CTRL, ALT and DEL buttons on my chest.
The Air Force Docs are treating this as an isolated case, but have given me a consult downtown, and some meds. They have not restricted me from deployments or regular PT. I told him I planned to continue training for a 10K leg of the OKC memorial marathon, and he said that's Ok, as long as I stay aware of any discomfort that may occur. If I experience fatigue like cruzrtwdgt says, that plan may go out the window though. I'd probably drop back to a 5K. Needless to say, I'll be taking it easy until after the cardiologist has given me a thorough checkup. I am not one to tempt fate.
