Synthetic Oil

Hey everyone... I have been contemplating changing to synthetic motor oil in the ST... Can someone list off the advantages of doing this? And also if there is anything special I need to do, or do I just do an oil change w/ synthetic?

PS - Whats a good brand/viscosity of oil to use?!

when I switched to Synthetic I used Mobile 1. I think I used 5w30. Nothing special need to be done, all I did was do an oil change.

5w30 any synthetic you want..



IF you plan on keeping it and want a good piece of mind use the synthetic, You are rough on the truck, off road, race, tow, use synthetic...



IF you drive like an old man and never go past 3K on oil changes, stay with regular oil..

Be sure to put synthetic in the engine, transmission AND differential. I have synthetic in our engine & tranny for two yrs., but it wasn't until I put it in the diff. that I unlocked the full potential of using synthetic.

Thier is much info on the advantage of using syn oil,Cleaner longerlasting engine etc, just check the web,good to use in rear end,For engine I use Castrol & have done for many years,it has gradually got to be priced more reasonable,

also use a good filter like k&n (#HP-2010) or something else that will last as long as the synthetic does.
