Thanks to everyone for their help with my 4WD, it was the module! Its kind of weird that it went out when I was changing the battery. I have since disconnected the battery several times since and the module is still working; maybe I disconnected the battery incorrectly last time or it might just be a coincidence. Nevertheless thanks to everyone!

When my battery went, I heard those noises too - relays slamming open and shut. The tow truck driver said the it would continue until the last milliamp was drained. A bad design that unnecessarily stresses components.
