Ordered a set of 575lb and 500lb(since my truck is a bit lighter) today. I’ll order the bearings as well. I thought about them when I first bought the Coilovers, but didnt order after scale said they wouldn’t be needed 🙄
Also…Found a set of hyperco coils for the front for a good price. I’ll let you know how they feel-not that I’ll have a qa1 to hyperco comparison, but still. Went with QA1 for the rears though. Figured I would also experiment, more options the better. Viking also as some as well. Pairs are around $160 for those, which isn’t bad at all.

Sounds good, certainly let me know how your STA rides after you get a few miles on it.
I have to get a few more miles on my spring to see how much they settle.

Les, do you have pics of the rears?

I think with my drop, it’s going to be very tight :/ Hopefully it doesn’t bind the coils.

Rear springs showed up yesterday fronts just arrived today. Might have time this weekend to install.

Here is my rear coil over shown with 2” of compressed preload. After I drove the truck a day, I had to reduce the preload down to 1” of preload (550lbs).
I thought mine would be close to binding the coils but actually it worked out fine.

Blown09,
Here is a photo weight on wheels (rear).
My ride height is 31.5”, center rear wheel opening to the ground.

Awesome, glad to see they don’t bind with your drop. I’m around the same height, 30.5” or 30.75” been awhile since I checked. I’m on 275/45/20’s for comparison.

How’s the handling? Coils settle already, or haven’t put that many miles on it? I doubt the qa1’s would change THAT much, but figured I’d ask.

I think my QA1 have settled maybe 1/4”-1/2”, but in about 50 miles I’ll reevaluate the ride height. I couldn’t be happier with the handling and ride characteristics.

I’m on to the body mods in order to get it closer to the actual concept truck except a SC B326 stroker is on the love list as well.
Good luck with your coil change out. Let me know how your coils work out.

Hello Les, so if I order the QA1 9HT550 and 10HT650 also the thrust bearings. 7888-109. Along with the kit from SS. I should be good to go?

1300 isn’t all that bad, had I known at the time I bought mine, I would have went that route. The construction of the scale stuff is pretty decent(to justify the 1300), but we also don’t really have many options either lol.

Thanks Blown09, might as well get my checkbook out 💰

STAworx or others that went with the scale's + qa1 coils - any thoughts on keeping a little bit of towing ability? just wanting to keep the capacity to tow a few thousand pounds... i'm considering the scale shock bodies, qa1 front coils, with universal air rear bags for some load adjustability....

I’ve towed about 2500 with the scale/qa1 setup in the rear(haven’t installed the fronts yet). It did fine, but you’ll have to be extra mindful of bumps due to the trucks stiffness.

Not sure how you would go about rear bags. You’ll have to do a full air strut.

Update on the Hyperco front coils. They are night and day difference from the stock coils that come from scale. Soooooooo much better.

Can’t compare directly to QA1 front coils, but they ride very similar to the rears, which are QA1’s.
Fronts are 575lb and rears are 500lb. I don’t think I would go any lighter than this.
