Ah, yes. Michele Bachmann. The Republican's foot-in-mouth wonder woman. I live just across the St. Croix River from her district, so I here a earful of the goings-on. She's a fvcking loon. Plain and simple. She reminds me of a school board member who ran with a vendetta and just happened to get elected because the other candidate sucked so much.

Yes, Obama will easily be re-elected as long as the Republicans continue to hold fast to their preoccupatuion and hatred of gays, and as long as they have the same old blowhards running the party.

I don't see a third party being viable for a long time. It takes a hell of a lot of money to get anything done, and there is a huge financial/political inertia.

Our country is screwed. Totally.

Republicans are preoccupied with their hatred of gays? Quoi?

I missed that memo. I think that's making a hasty generalization, though I know it is a liberal myth as even the show American Dad devoted a whole episode to this. If it were true, would the "evil" republicans have left San Francisco, Key West, and (most blatantly) Vancouver, BC on the map? I think not.

Didn't our former VP speak to the contrary?

Moreover, I seriously doubt that the Republicans would get in if they simply became pro-gay.

Sadly, the way the public education system rears kids to liberalism the odds of a republican comeback get lower and lower. Even the conservative talk shows have realized this truth.

(And as we all know, public school teaches largely nothing anyhow, so it's a double disaster)

At least 50% of the country only cares about what the govt will do for them and doesn't give crap about the other 48% who have to foot the bill.
