Question, since it has gotten colder here the last couple days, when I start my truck first time in the morning the "Theft Light" flashes for about the first mile, Why is that?

The only thing I can think of is it is reading the key wrong, or the ring that reads the key In the column shifted or is affected by the cold weather...
Did you try another key and see if it does it... ??

I would think that if it could not read the key, it would not start??
By any chance, do you have a remote-start unit on your Sport Trac? If so, that may be the culprit, especially if you have to install a key under the dash to bypass the PATs system

Sorry for the late response, been very busy here. No remote starter, doesn't seem to happen with the other key however now it isn't doing it at all anymore, go figure!!!!!

Mine's been doing the same thing now for a couple of weeks. I just noticed tonight terrible corrossion on one of the battery terminals. I cleaned it off with sandpaper and re-tightened. No idea if this was the problem but I'll report back.
