Thinking of doing a Body Lift, can I see your's

Happy spring all,

I am thinking of doing a body lift, i will be doing it myself. Would like to see pictures of your ST lifted. If anyone has any advise, please feel free. Also, I have a brush guard that i know I will need to fab new mounting brackets, any ideas will help. Look in my library to see what my ST looks now, do you think a 3" body lift will be to much? Thanks and keep on Tracing.

I did the PA body lift a couple of months ago. I had a shop buy it and install it. They did a real good job. I don't have any pictures yet but am working on it. the cost was $800 and 2 days in the shop. I am running 286/75/16"s so I am really about 5" higher than factory. I have the Manik grill guard but have not put it on yet. I have to wait till I get back to the shop in a couple of weeks to make the brackets to put it back on. the main problem is the bolt that is bolted to the frame to the bumper is in the way. I need to relocate it to bring the bracket from under the frame, turn it up and out. I don't want to cut the lower cover. All in all I love the look andthe only rubbing I have is on the front antisway bar. Hope this helps.

I had the same rubbing after I did the torsion twist and shackle lift. The way I solved that problem was to put spacers on. I used 1 1/2" on the rear and 1 14" on the front. This did cause the front tires to rub slightly on the plastic inner fender at a full turn, nothing that a razor blade and some creative trimming could not solve. I know once I do the body lift all rubbing should be gone. Looks like we have the same size tires and the same color ST. Love the wheels that you have, looks great.

What size tires are you running? I'm guessing 275 or 285s? If you do the body lift will you be selling those tires for bigger ones? Btw the trac looks good and a body lift is not going to hurt it! I know most guys have used the PA lift so i would go with that one. Good luck!

I did the SL and TT. Didn't like the ruff ride it had and I wore out the hub barings so that is why i did the body lift. My wife bought it for Xmas. I got the wheels and tires at 4wheelparts.com. $1400 mounted balanced and shipped with center caps and lug nuts. I LOVE the teflon coating on the rims. The tires are loud! Can't wait to wear them out so i can get the BFG's.

I did mine myself, with the help of a friend. 7 hours and it was done, it sits on 285 nitto terra grappler tires, these tires have great grip and eat snow and mud up.... and they aren't loud on the highway......

Ours was lifted when we bought it. We added the grill guard, OEM fog lights and OEM hitch. Obviously, all required modifications to the way they were mounted.

Brian, you can the superlift from several sites on the net or some shops in your area probably. i know i can order one through my tire place. as far as putting it in i wouldn't be surprised if chad did it himself but my friends owns a 4x4 shop and said it was not an easy kit to install, or pay for, i believe it is like $1,800

I was wondering how much and where did you get your suspension lift???? also did you put it in yourself?

I bought the lifted spindles/knuckles from Superlifts scratch and dent store on ebay. They had surface rust all over them, and they knocked almost $400 off the retail price. I bought the rest of the kit online for about $1200. The install is pretty easy if you have experience working on cars. And the manual is pretty good to. I installed the entire kit by myself, and never even saw a lift kit before.



I also installed coilovers on the front and removed the torsion bars. I got the brackets from RCD to mount the shocks, and bought Fox 2.0 Emulsion coilovers w/800 lb springs.



I could probably install the lift kit again in about 4-5hrs, if I had high end air tools with alot of torque, and a bigger compressor. My little 15 gallon tank does not has enough @$$ to keep up though. I have had my CV's out so many times I got that down to 15-20 minutes including removing the tire.
