I was just cruising MySportTrac.com when my Security system indicated that it had just detected a threat?



I logged off and activate my security software and it detected "Adware/Widgi Toolbar". I cleaned my PC of the offending software and everything seems to be running fine.



Just wanted to give you a heads up and a heads up to any of the members who might not have any Anti-Adware or Spy-Ware protection.

I also had something popup about 2hours ago. While on the site. Then disapeared too quik to see it.

I need to check my security history. Maybe it cought it. Or it was a fast driveby.

I haven't noticed anything, though I've been mostly using my phone or public pcs to check the site.

It may have been a contaminated website that someone linked to in their post? I was not paying much attention to exactly where I was or where I had been, so it might have been another site that went to...and it took some time for the Adware to kick in before my system detected it?



I use Microsoft's Security Essentials. It's FREE and seems to work very well. I keep my security setting on High and this is the first time it has ever popped up a warning that it had detected something on my system while I was actually accessing the internet. Only one other time did my daily scan find anything on my PC, and that was about 3 months ago....more Adware which it quickly removed.

I have had my Norton 2011 intenet security firewal and virus, block links that some have posted.

I also have some of the MS security running, malware bytes and spyware blaster.The norton seems to be the fastest.

Talking with some folks. Im suprised at how many dont have any security. Or some dont realize that what came with their computer. Was only a 90day trial.
