hey all, we are just fnishing the renovations to our kitchen... and im onto the drainpipe for the kitchen sink... the closest, neatest place that I can drain into from the upper level to the basement is where our washing machine drains....

Is this ok to drain into the same pipe as our washer? The washer pipe is tall with the hose into the top of it and at hte bottom there is a p-trap and then into the concrete... if I get a y connection on there somewhere, should this be ok?

Thank you!!

XST,

Yes a "Y" fitting is the way to go, The thing to remember is to have the sink Drain attach ABOVE the washing machine or you can get suds back into the sink....

AND you need a trap on both so you don't get the smell back into the house..

I have a perfect system like this in my house if you need a pic..
