Just curious as to what you guys would recommend for a trailer brake control. I've got an 07 with the pre wire harness. I've never pulled a large trailer, any pointers?

I have a Tekonsha P3. It is the ultimate super-dee-duper ninja of all trailer brake controllers.

I was just reading about that actually! How about mirror extensions? The trailer is wider than the ST, any recommendations there?

there isn't a lot out there for a STrac... I only use mine if i am going on a long trip on interstate... the clamp on ones, while better than nothing, vibrate too much.... I have been toying with grafting on a set of extendables from an Excursion or F250...

I use the Draw-Tite Activator II Electronic Brake Controller, it's been around for a long time and most important to me was that it can be mounted in any angle unlike many controllers out there. The Tekonsha P3 is a sweet unit, not sure if it can be mounted at any angle though. If so, it would be the way to go.

I mounted mine sideways on the left side of the console using Velcro. When it's not being used I can easily remove it and tuck it under the dash where it's sight unseen and out of the way.

I have the installation instructions for my Activator II posted in my library if you care to it.

I have a Draw-tite Activator 3. It is like the Activator 2, but it has a hand held controller. I mounted the brain under the radio in the dash. I than ran a to the center console. When I need to use my trailer, I just plug in the hand controller and I am set.

The Prodigy is the pre-runner to the P3. Same basic thing, but not as spiffy of an interface.
