Turbo Trac???

I read an earlier message about someone planning to install an STS turbo system on their Trac. I'm seriously considering going this route since I have an '02 with TT & shackle lift, BFG 275's and I'm at 5000+ ft. elevation here on the Colorado front range. I'm not looking for a ton of power, just enough (5 psi max) to keep my Trac respectable on the highway and especially climing I-70 to the mountains. I also don't want to lose my transmission or a piston, which seems to be common weak links for these trucks. I'm not too concerned with the fabrication & installation, my issue is with tuning. Does anyone out there know how hard this would be? I bought an SCT X-Calibrator 2 several years ago from Doug at Bama Chips, hopefully I can use it with a new tune??

hey, i think that was me, cuz i said that i wanted one a few times.



i will be having a performance shop that installs them on mustangs



if you go to the STS site, you can search local shops that install them and will tune them.



the single turbo kit installed/tuned, is roughly 3000 (what i was quoted)

I looked at their site and have sent a couple of emails to STS. Their Denver source doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence. I'm pretty sure the installation will be fairly easy, I've had the Trac up on a lift and have a good plan for routing the pipes as well as a remote intake. I'm not a big fan of leaving the air filter under the truck under any circumstance. Does anyone know a good source for a custom tune??

You need to find someone competent to calibrate it properly. That is going to be the difference between you having a truck you can enjoy that runs properly under all conditions and blown up components. If you have any direct questions email me [email protected]
