Since you have a 2002, you'll want to make sure you get a 6CD unit from an 01-03. In 04 and 05, Ford changed the rear plug setup and the "communication" style of the units. I don't know about 01-03, but in 04, Ford went to the CANBUS interface protocol.
I upgraded from the stock radio to an aftermarket Pioneer head unit after the discs kept getting stuck in it. I lost the power to the sub and the backseat controls are no longer operational. I know they sell auxillary hookups to get the sub and controls back again. My computer crashed and I lost the links to the pages but i'm sure if you search this site you can find other topics and maybe even find a link to the adapters. I want to get one and get my sub hooked back up but really haven't had the time to figure out how to remove the new head unit and put it back together without ruining it and making it look like a big mess.
