Curley,

I have to get up on my soap box because your BS is getting so deep. Probably deeper than the pile of time slips you have, which by the way, prove nothing. I probably have a few old time slips around the house somewhere from my 1965 GTO. Time slips don't tell the make and model of vehicle that was timed. And what is the point of time slips if you already admitted that it was a GTECH time.

I've owned 2 Sport Trac's. Both were V6's and bone stock except for a K&N drop in filter. I don't own a Sport Trac anymore, I own a 2008 Mercedes Benz and it would not be fair to race you with that even though it only has a little V6.

But I am curious as to just how much money you are willing to lose?? It just might be worth my time...:D:D:D

one other note.

i highly doubt the claim that you beat your friends new 5.7 tundra.

unless he felt bad for you and let you win.

but with the benefit of a doubt, maybe he didn't have the 5.7, but maybe a 4.0 six cylin.

that sounds more accurate as the 5.7 dohc 32v i-force is rated at 381hp/over 400 lb. ft. torque and tested at a 14.7 1/4.

rich, i think your on to something.

The Tundra, in avg trim (4 door) is going to be at least 1,000 pounds heavier than the Sport Trac. Even just the Tundra Reg cab short box is 4,850 pounds.

mY 1/4 Mile ET caculator says that a 4850 lbs Tundra with 381 flywheel HP will do the 1/4 mile in 14.335 seconds. So it is not unreasonable that a heavier 4 door Tundra would do 14.7 seconds.

The problem with the GTECH and most other calculators is that you must tell them the vehicle weight and if you put that in wrong, all the other numbers in the calculations are wrong. They also not include and wind or wind resistance or reaction time, or transmission or rear axle gear ratios or engine rpm. That's why in real world conditions on the track, they will not do what the GTECH says. Accuracy to .01 seconds only assumes everything else was enter correctly and assumes everything like gears and shift rpm are 100% maximised for the 1/4 mile and street vehicles are not.

Given Curley the benifit of the doubt under ideal conditions his truck would do about 15.40 but again, that would require everything else to be perfect for the 1/4 and we know they are not. My guess is that a 15.55 to 15.60 would be a very good time if the conditions were right, and a 15.45 might be possible with a little tail wind :D:D

Hey Bill, if you don't like this thread, you know that you don't have to read it. And just how are you gettin internet service in your Yerk? :D:D

Rich,

You only need to enter weight when you are computing HP. Could never get that to work right. But for 0-60 & 1/4 mile runs, you just have to level it, which is really easy.

It only works off of G force and time in this mode. So weight, wind, gear ratios, stuff like that DO NOT MATTER. It starts computing the moment the car moves. Go to the Gtech site, they video tape a run at the strip and times are the same

Again, I use it on my 2006 Gt mustang with Granatelli cold air intake all the time and run 0-60= 5.1 and 1/4 mile at 13.43 , which is right on the money for what the car should run. I really doubt anyone would argue that.

I ran the truck the first week I had it and ran 0-60=8.18 and 1/4 mile at 16.21. Right in line with Motortrend.

The track opens in few weeks and I will video tape my run with Gtech on dash

curley,

ok, whatever. it was presented that way with no mention that you "ran" it with a g-tech (same as a stopwatch!).

the funny side of this is that the trac is one of the least likely vehicles to gain any performance numbers worthy of the money spent.

rich,

the tundra 5.7 in any format is still quicker then a v-8 trac.

Hope U guys don't disclose your "real" ages. Till U two meet at the track, handicap or not - BURY IT

I have run my ST at the track and this was before the tune it went [email protected] with a 2.29 60ft I think on a cold night with the tune I can get it too go 15.60's but low 15's

I think would be hard to do but if you can get it to run that I wiil be the first the say good job...
