My living room TV bit it last evening. Looked for a replacement on walmart.com. Found one on sale...about $100 off in-store price. Proceeded to online checkout and they asked if I wanted it today. Sure. Why not? A few minutes after I paid, I got an emailed ticket to print out and bring to my local Walmart for immediate pickup. Wow. That was so cool.

Must be nice to live near a Walmart with decent customer service. When I attempted that a couple times with the one here in Brooklyn Park, each time took half an hour standing in line plus another half an hour of the clerk trying to figure out how to make this transaction work. And on one of the occasions, they STILL got it wrong, and I had to come back later.

They recently completely renovated and updated the building of the Brooklyn Park Walmart--but unfortunately they didn't make any improvements on the quality of their employees...

I ordered both a bug deflector from the local Wal-mart store and it the store got in in about 3 days. Later I order a Rear window vent visor and a week later I went to get it and they could not find my order. I talked to the manager of the Automotive department who handled my order and he remembered me and admitted that he screwed up and it never got ordered. He placed the order while I stood there, and when it came in about a week later he gave it to me at no charge because he screwed up the first order. Great customer service

I also order an aluminum patio set from Wal-Mart.com and it arrive on time and I was notified immediately that I could pick it up at the local store. Again, good customer service.

I know that a lot of the stuff Wal-Mart sells is cheap Chinese junk, but they also sell a lot of better quality American made products at lower prices than most other stores.

the walmart i go to in florida has been nothing but a very good experience. not to mention, i was able to buy many needed things for a house in one stop.

I did a ship-to-store for the local WalMart a few times. Once for a basketball backstop, then each year for holiday photo greeting cards.

I think they take way, way too long to find the stuff when I show up, printed paper in hand that indicates all the info about the item that has been communicated to me as being received and within the store.

I think they lack a good process for receiving and temporarily storing the ship-to-store items.

Still, it beats the alternatives... going without, paying more including shipping from another 'etailer, or driving all over creation.

TJR,

I suspect that your local WalMart store has issues in their Receiving Dept. My local WalMart seems to be on the ball on gets what ever I order rather quickly. The only delay appears to be that I showed up to pick up my cast aluminum patio set, there was no one at the counter and it took several minutes for someone to show up. But retreiving my purchase was very quick once I got waited on.
