 Dam Mickey Mouse's cousins!!!!!!!!! We live in the country and Rose got a "constant passenger" living in her dash (field mouse). Now he has gotten hungry and chewed up a major wiring harness. Fords says break out the wallet. Of course I knew this, but I tried to pull one over and it didn't work... MOUSE,,, not in my car???:D:D The service writer said he made a pretty good nest with the wires and some napkins left in the truck. AND he made a bed in the glove box too, (ate up the owners manual) Oh well, we all have to live somewhere I guess.:(

LaRue,

Nelson makes a good point. I don't know if that would fall under the heading of "Vandalizm" but I think it may be covered, minus your deductable. I know years ago my wife burned a hole in the drivers seat in our new Honda with a cigarrette an my insurance paid for that repair minus my $50 deductable. Total cost was over $300.

...Rich

lol sorry but vandalized or victimized by a mouse just sounds sooo funny!

I hope it falls under the comprehensive ins. too :)

I've lost a fuel rail cover on my BMW and a fuel injection harness on the Olds Intrigue. Both weren't covered under warranty. I overheated a lawn tractor 'cause a nest was built under the cooling shroud. Field mice are so much fun. If anyone wants one give me an E-Mail. Postage is free.

My interest has been gained, here. My heater blower motor is on its last leg (loud as hell). I have not had the time to get it to the dealer for service. However, I am holding my breath as to the cause. The last time a heater blower went was when I had a 1996 Explorer and a mouse made a home in somewhere in the tubes. The dealer replaced it under warranty then. However, I cannot imagine having to pay for a fix on a vehicle with 20,000 miles and extended warranty out the wazoo. Apparently, the way these critters make their way into the system has not been fixed since 1996...

About 10 years ago I borrowed my Dad's old Nissan Truck to help my father in law move some stuff. He did not drive the truck much and had it parked in his back yard near a overgrown field. The day went fine until I was making the 30 minute drive back. Within 2 miles of my Dad's I started seeing what I assumed was the cool air coming out of the air vents in a cool haze. I soon realized it was smoke . I roll down the windows and my wife driving behind me see me drive the last few miles in a panic with smoke coming from the cab of the truck:blink:. I pull into the drive way with the AC unit under the passenger dash starting to drip into the floorboard. We end up putting the fire out with a water house but soon discovered that a field mouse had crawled up inside the AC and built a nest that caught fire at the end of a long day.

Larue....I can relate.

This post is a joke...right LaRue ??? My very first car was a '56 Plymouth (well, it was a very long time ago!). My Dad has bought it from Navy Surplus...it was battleship grey below and white above, with a big USN Shield on each front door...was a 4-door naturally. I raised Racing Pigeons at that time and I would store two or three types of mixed feed in the back floorboard of the car. Over a month or so one Spring, I found that I was growing several varieties of exotic seed plants in my Savoy!! I'm sure I had other critters too LaRue, but I never thought that their potential :lol:damage might be covered by a Warranty!!!! Warranty???
