What should we call the ST "generations"?

How about "Sport Trac", and "Sport Trac-The Next Generation"?

(Although I'm not sure we should continue the theme by calling the next one after this "Sport Trac-Deep Space Nine". "Sport Trac-Voyager" might not be bad, though.)

I swear I was thinking of the Star Trek (tm) analogy with this one! Being one

who grew up watching the original Star Trek series. Maybe we could differentiate

by saying Captain Jaques Nasser at the helm on G-1's, and Captain Tom Ford on

the G-2's? And we could do the captain's log-stardate to tell the years apart for

the different models in each generation:

(I.E.):Captains Log Stardate 070105:

My generation one Traccruiser was experiencing Warp-Shudder between Warp 2

and warp 3.9678. After pulling into Starfleet Command Warp-Drive Balance Shop,

they discovered that the Dilithium-Crystal Drive was .226 Ligons out-of balance...

(you get the point!). ;)

It should be like software revisions.

2001 job one is ST1.0

2001-2003 job 2 is ST1.1

2001-2005 with the change to the cladding and disk brakes in rear ST1.2

2007 job1 is ST2.0

and 2007's job 2 will be a ST2.1

Sorry if my years are wrong as I wasent sure what year the rear disk brakes and the painted lower cladding was made availble. We might want to even consider the adrenilens a ST 1.2.1

I go with 1ST Gen (01-05) 2ND Gen (07-11)(w/5 yr run= 7-11)

And when being specific as to production runs: Perhaps like this:

1ST Gen 01-J1 or J2

" " 02 - J1 or J2

" " 03 - J1 or J2

" " 04 - J1 or J2

" " 05 - J1 or J2

2ND Gen 07 - J1 or J2

" " 08 - J1 or J2

" " 09 - J1 or J2

" " 10 - J1 or J2

" " 11 - J1 or J2

I know I'm looking ahead of FORD with this into 2011, but if they do it right, there will be a successful run of these trucks into this era, IMHO, of course. I know I would gladly work for them just to keep and improve this sweet little SUT! Looking forward to an 07 in 07, Limited w/ all the bells and whistles xcept navi and heated windshield!

:wub::cool::D;)

1st Gen and 2nd Gen seems to be the logical answer. Making it anything more could create more confusion.

1G '01-'05

'06 No Trac Produced

2G '07-

The Gen thing works for me. Would be interesting to know if Ford refers to them a particular way in order to differentiate.

I like the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen, but on the pages that this leads to there should be a listing of the years somewhere at the top.

Regular and Decafe,

Mild and Spicy

Leaded and Unleaded

Smooth and Crunchy

The Old Ones and The New Ones.

The Good, The Bad (and to some, the Ugly)

:D

...Rich

1st Gen and 2nd Gen, when talking about them as a group.

Use the year and Job1 or Job2 when talking about a specific vehicle.

OK, most folks seen to be confortable with 1st Generation and 2nd Generation (1st Gen and 2nd Gen as a shorthand). That's what I will use here on the site when setting up various pages where it matters, and hopefully the terminology will stick.

Thanks for the feedback!
