We just bought a toy hauler and I'm getting conflicting numbers regarding my max tow capacity.

I have an 07 with the 4.6L V8. I thought my max was 7,200 but I've heard several different things.

I've heard 6,800 for the 07 and the newer ones go up to 7,200 lbs.

It's a stock ST with a weight distribution system installed for towing (see picts for my current setup).

I know I should know this but I wanted to get some feedback from this site.

The 4.6-liter V-8 and 6R transmission deliver a maximum 6,800 pounds of towing capacity, and 1,430 pounds of payload. In addition, the combination is expected to deliver more than 20 miles per gallon on the highway, matching the economy of the competitor’s less-powerful V-6 engines. The V-8 meets federal Tier II Bin 5 standards, which is compliant with California’s Low Emissions Vehicle II (LEV II) standards.

v8 4x2 is 7160 4x4 is 6990. (Maybe because the 4x4 weighs more?)

It was actually this guide where I discovered sport tracs even existed. I saw the name and the picture and didn't put it all together.
