Power came back on about 15 mins ago, down for two days. We had winds as high as 69 miles an hour. Several downed trees on the main road outside of the complex entry way. Some of these trees were 100ft tall that took down power lines for a mile. Still no power at my office/shop. Only a dozen gas stations have fuel in a 35 mile radius and those lines are as long as a mile to get into the stations.

My neighbor has three trees that are 100ft+ tall that were uprooted and missed his house by 20 feet.

We had no damage to our house however, I thought the two 100ft trees in the green belt behind our house would come down, luckily didn't.

I'm amazed at how many people don't know how to treat a stop light intersection as a four way stop signed area.

Yeah, I was watching that on the news. We had the same deal here about two weeks ago.

Makes me glad I made racks for my garbage cans out of treated 4x4's and 2x4's. :D

Robert,

I saw that on the news yesterday. Northwest coast got hit by hurricane force winds and tons of rain!! I heard that winds were clocked at over 130 mph and over 10" of rain.

Sorry to hear about all the damaged trees. That's some of the most beautifull trees in the US are in Oregon and Washington.

55 people now admitted to the hospital for Carbon Monox poisoning. One person died because he was running his gasoline generator in his living room. That is just plain crazy.

KIRO Radio News interviewed the head of Seattle's FEMA and asked where are the shelters at and the phone# for the info. When they finally had the # they called it and it wasn't the correct information. The shelters were only for the daytime hours. KIRO made it a point to get the guy back on the line and request the correct information. They even made it a point to say "Don't pull a Katrina on our listeners."

I remember the October, 1962 storm. I was out in it for some reason, dodging tree limbs and such.

Looks like this one was worse.

I live in Arizona now but my son is in Bremerton area and he is w/o power.

Im still without power. Surfing the net with a sprint wireless card. Not all bad have the gas fireplace next to me on, and a generator out on the patio running a few lights and the fridges/freezers in the house. Overall my area was hit pretty bad. They dont think well get power till around tuesday or wednesday. Kinda sucks. Ill be smelly thats for sure.

A few shots a buddy of mine took.

A good friend of mine was killed in St Louis 3 weeks ago when some dingbat couldn't figure out how to handle a power-outage at a lit intersection. T-Boned her in the driver door. Killed her instantly. A passenger in her car walked away with minor bruises.

Really sux. Course now that other driver has the fact that they screwed up and killed someone on their conscience for the rest of their lives.
