Would you lower the ST?

I'm lowered 3/2 and if I bought another ST, it would be THE first thing I did. I trimmed my bump stops and I no longer bottom out. Shocks are probably coming sometime soon. Look is awsome, and I love sitting at stop lights next to another ST and looking up at them.

I keep considering it for handling purposes, but I can't bring myself to actually go through with it. I don't think I'd like looking UP at people. However, I do want better handling. I know I can't have it both ways, but it sure would be nice if I could! I'll probably end up lowering it a little bit. I can't imagine slamming it though, that might look a bit odd.

I need the 4-wheel drive for winter here in Missouri. We can get quite a bit of snow sometimes. The lowering kit from EE is only 1 3/8", that wouldn't totally kill my ground clearance, but it's supposed to help handling significantly. The speeds that you can attain in a very short time with the supercharger almost require handling and braking upgrades. My brakes fade quickly in town, and being that this is the ozarks, we have plenty of twists and turns on the roads.

Baron are you near I-44? I pass through the Ozarks several times a year, so I will keep my eyes open for a fast-moving ST if you are nearby. I usually stop in Rolla to get the cheap E-85 fuel at the Mobil station. :D

Scott Simon,

I use my 4x4 for pulling my boat of those slippery launches. It's also fun to out drag hot cars off the line like Mustangs and Vettes when the roads are wet. Regardless, I believe the 07 ST is proof enough that many are looking for sports car performance out of their ST's.:)

Lowering a 4x4 ST only makes sense to some people after they've driven one...

Mine's been lowered at least 3 years, and I love it.

We have a Jeep and a Bronco to beat off-road...

Larry, I have issues when braking and turning, like, when the nose drops, or if I'm turning and it's bump, such as pulling out of a driveway. Otherwise, if I'm on level ground, I can turn all the way to the steering stops without issue, and that's nice on my 265/70/17 tires.
