Ja, hey der! Wait, I'm probably not allowed to say that, since I'm a flat-lander FIB, right?:bwahaha:

The first one, Wauwatosa, is where my brother-in-law and his family live, so that caught my attention right away.

OMG, that was HILARIOUS!!!

As soon as it started, I was thinking that they need to be sure to do Oconomowoc and Weyauwega! Was so glad to see that they did!

Although I'm a native cheesehead, I now live in the Twin Cities. My favorite here is "Wayzata". Everyone wants to pronounce it WAY-zah-tuh, but it's actually WHY-zeh-tuh. What makes it funniest is that on Beverly Hills, 90210, the Walsh family supposedly had moved from Wayzata to Beverly Hills--but every time they mentioned that on the show, they mispronounced it!

I'm sure every state has several of these. The worst I've heard is Worcester, MA. How they can completely ignore half of the name when pronouncing it is beyond me. I've always suspected that there's an orchestra in that town called "The Woostah Oostrah". (After all, if you can ignore the "rc" in one, you need to ignore it in both, right??)

The video reminds me of the time 20 years ago that I saw Paula Poundstone perform in Milwaukee. She had driven to Milwaukee, and she said she was amazed at all the town names along the way--MilWAUkee, PeWAUkee, WAUkesha, WAUsau, WAUWAtosa, etc.

"Everything has 'wau-wau' in it," she said. "It's like every city in Wisconsin was named by Helen Keller."

Does anyone remember the scene in "Hot Shots" where Charlie Sheen met with Chief Owatonna? They start speaking in what sounds like some sort of Indian language. If you listen carefully, they're actually naming cities in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

My grandfather said, we are decendents of the, werthafukawe tribe. They were nomads and stayed lost alot..LOL
